Bacillus amyloliquefaciens ist eine Spezies von Bakterien in der Gattung Bacillus, die die Quelle des BamH1restriction Enzyms ist. Es synthetisiert auch eine natürliche antibiotische Protein-Barnase, eine weitgehend untersuchte Ribonuklease, die mit ihrem intrazellulären Inhibitor Barstar einen faszinierenden Komplex bildet, und Plantazolicin, ein Antibiotikum mit selektiver Aktivität gegen Bacillus anthracis.
